Northern Valentine:
Northern Valentine is a Philadelphia based ambient/drone-rock collective anchored by husband and wife, Robert and Amy Brown. They have drawn comparison to Labradford, Windy and Carl, Flying Saucer Attack, and Eluvium. The music they create is largely improvisational and is often set to film and visuals created by the collective. They coax sounds from electric and acoustic sources and weave soundscapes of “barely there” post-rock instrumentation into a tapestry that Phil McMullen (Terrascope Online) refers to as “minimalist ambiance at its best. Heartfelt, soulful and affecting, like gazing into a scrapbook of memories”.
For this performance, they are joined by drone guitarist, P.D. Wilder, from the Austin, Texas blues-psyche group, Hotel Hotel. His minimal and ambient guitar washes create a spooky and ominous vibe that fans of Loren Mazzacane Connors will enjoy.

Summer of Glaciers:

There’s something epic about the music that Summer of Glaciers makes.
Floating in limbo somewhere between electronica and rock, little more than an electric guitar and programmed drums provide the foundation for what they refer to as a “wordless story.” Their music intriguingly unfolds with a slow build, and you begin to understand exactly what they mean. A story consists of a setup, a build to a climax, and then an ending that tapers it to a close. Summer of Glaciers weave suspenseful tales with sound.
