Kevin has been in such places as Miami FL, Atlanta GA, Raleigh NC, Washington D.C., Richmond VA, Baltimore MD, Philadelphia, New York City, Boston MA and New Orleans, where he made various street recordings. The material from this period is commonly regarded as his strongest, but his resistance to releasing his material rendered him unknown until widespread use of the Internet and mp3 downloading took hold. Fans from several continents began to download his recordings, but Holland received no remuneration. Disregarding contact from several major record labels, speculation arose as to Holland’s mental health. A 2002 benefit concert series was held in Toronto in order to raise funds for much needed dental work.
