VANESSA MICALE

Folk / Americana / Experimental

stain glass two.

Vanessa Micale was given a nylon string guitar around the time she was migrating north to San Francisco, many moons ago. She briefly formed a top secret band with Shinji Kittagawa called “the eavesdroppers.” Together they played a handful of very raw shows before moving to other parts of the world. She kept playing guitar, recording songs on tape after tape after tape, spending many hours writing and singing in rooms in San Francisco, Montevideo, and presently, in Los Angeles. She has briefly collaborated with friends/drummers, Jeff Steiner, Gerald Leroy, and last year, with Ted Brynes. At present, she collaborated with her loop pedal. She will sing her heart out for you at dusk or dawn or anytime in between, including broad daylight.

CHARLOTTE LITTLEHALES

Acoustic / Folk Rock / Blues

Charlotte Littlehales has never considered herself a performer, but it seems she must perform regardless. At twenty three, she’s been writing and performing her own music for eight years, a practice she picked up as a sophomore in high school. It began with the first few chords she learned on guitar and has yet to end, though it certainly changes, traveling through rock, folk, jazz, and country.

BEVIN CAULFIELD

Folk / Indie / Soul

Greg and I at the Fire

Singer/Songwriter, Bevin Caulfield‚Äôs roots are in rural South Jersey where she grew up singing around a campfire and in the local church. Her mother also required her to take piano lesson from the age of five, which helped to shape her ear for melody and harmony. Music became her focus in 2003, when she was a student at Villanova, living across the street from the venue The Point. There, she met three self-proclaimed songwriters, Amos Lee, Devin Greenwood and Forrest Glen. Their aspirations inspired her to pursue music full time and she soon moved to Philadelphia and immersed herself in the folk and indie music scene. Songwriting came naturally as she taught herself the guitar and soon began playing clubs like The Fire, Tin Angel, and World Caf√© Live. Bevin writes sassy and soulful songs about relationships, social issues, and her experiences as an evolving being. Bevin is also the songwriter/singer/keyboardist in the Downtempo/Trip-hop group, Quintero and has spent time touring as a singer in Angel Band and David Bromberg‚Äôs back-up band. She was also a part of The Super Humble Country Band, featuring many of Philadelphia‚Äôs local favorites including Hezekiah Jones, Hoots & Hellmouth, and Andrew Lipke. She has shared the stage with Tift Merritt, Amos Lee, Don McClouskey, Ben Arnold and several other national and regional artists. Bevin Caulfield recently released her first EP, The Living EP, in December 2008. It highlights her original songs, recorded in Philadelphia at Turtle Studios, Kawari Studios, and Ish‚Äôs Studio. The recording features drummer Fred Berman (Amos Lee) , percussionist, Dante Bucci (Mutlu) and was mixed and mastered by Phil Nicolo at Studio 4. Bevin performs live on guitar and piano and most often with accompanists, including her sister, Erin, on harmony vocals. “If you’re not familiar with Bevin’s music yet, check her out immediately. Her voice is a sultry, smooth melange of molasses and honey that oozes sinfully in syrupy sweet silhouettes across the room and ensconces you in her enchanting enigma.” -The Music Barista
